Title: repacking 1 1/2" deavers
Post by: airmanwilliams on June 07, 2011, 05:04:24 PM
I just picked up some 1 1/2" deaver springs from a friend to do a spring over with them but they sag some. What im hoping to do is get some stock springs from this guy too and will be repacking these springs before they go on. My question is where do I find new centering pins for these?

take your perches that you are going to weld on to a bolt supply and see if an Allen bolt will fit in the perch, you can allways grind them down a bit if they are too tall.

allens work but are a bit brittle. look in the orange "doorman" boxes at a local parts house. or sometimes there in back (bulk packed) but just tell 'em you need leaf spring center pin bolts. any parts guy old enough to grow a full beard should be able to hook you up with out giving the sideways pound puppy look.
