Title: What goes here?
Post by: FreddyDynamite on June 08, 2011, 06:58:19 AM
Just bought this 91 and doing all the regular tuneup stuff, but I noticed this and I am not sure what goes there.  Any help or pics would be appreciated, thanks

Check the PCV that goes into the manifold.  That might be it.

I am thinking this is a part that was "recycled" from another vehicle, looked around for engine pics and from what I can see, this is normally just a single hose going from the valve cover to the throttle body cover.  Can anyone confirm this?

I think you are right, I don't remember any other hoses in that spot
on the '89 Kick, it goes from the valve cover, into a T that has a small
port to the base of the throttle body, and then comes up to hook into
the aluminum intake tube for oil vapor recovery

That is a factory piece.
One port is connected to the nipple on the topside of the coolant tube, that is on the backside of the water pump.
The other port is connected to the bottom of the IAC valve (idle air control).
