Title: Samurai Late Model Front Diff
Post by: segermech on June 09, 2011, 05:22:50 AM
Anyone know why on late model sammys the front diff design is different from the rear.  Is it cheaper, better, or what?

Thanks.

Probably because it is (was) cheaper.  The carrier is the same as what is used in the front of all 89-95 trackicks.
It definitely isn't better.  It only uses the single long crosspin and 2 spider gears vs. a long crosspin and 2 short crosspins and 4 spider gears.
