Title: Is this thing for real?
Post by: Aimsmall on June 28, 2011, 06:05:47 PM
I am just curious if anyone here has tried this GF Performance Chip Kit for the SUZUKI SIDEKICK out? It claims to do some pretty impressive things, but anyone can say stuff and don't mean squat. Any info would be great.

Installation can be performed by anyone using simple hand tools. The GF module installs into your SUZUKI SAMURAI's engine bay and is connected via 2 wires that plug into the IAT sensor. Diagrams are included. The unit is then able to reprogram the ECU thus improving your car's performance. Everything needed for installation is included in this kit for a quick and easy installation that shouldn't take more than 15 minutes. There is absolutely nothing else needed to have this installed on your vehicle

Quote taken from here (http://www.gfchips.com/suzukisamurai.aspx), highlights are mine.

What that does is trick the ECU by telling it that the intake air is colder that it really is, so that it richens the mixture to compensate.

You're NOT going to get anywhere near to 60HP more (did you notice it says "upto"?), you're NOT going to get any more miles per gallon (you can't use more fuel AND increase the mpg), and you're NOT going to reduce pollution (you're burning more fuel, you're producing more pollutants)

I didn't believe it did anything it claimed. I am not a gimmick buying person. I just wanted to see if there was anyone here that had actually tried it. I will spend my 60 bucks on a KN air filter and a couple gallons of gas.

I hear if you light your $60 on fire you'll get 100 more HP!

You try it first and video tape it and post it so we can see it in action. ;)
