Post by: narnwv on July 08, 2011, 12:52:50 PM
Anybody know the CFM of airflow from the factory condenser fan?

Yep.  Any ideas on what would be best?

Mine was rusted solid, so last year I just grabbed the only one I could afford at the time from Advance.  Well, it's 2" smaller, and I'm sure the CFM is less.  The issue is their 14" fan doesn't seem as if it would have enough CFM.  It's about half the CFM as the condenser fan on my Grand Cherokee.

I picked up an OEM replacement off ebay for about $50 shipped just two weeks ago.  It was the same size and bolted up no problem.  I did have to use the harness off the old fan though.  Works like a charm.  I'd search ebay.

If no luck on ebay, I got a replacement from NAPA.  They had to special order it but it was nearly identical to the factory one.  I think it was around $120 though.  Because the mounting screws for the fan were so rusted in place, I ended up simply swapping the motor from the new fan to the old housing (still attached to the car).  I didn't want to get into drilling and cutting so close to the fragile evaporator.

You could also give Hawk or Trail Tough a call because they part out trucks.  Maybe they have a good one.
