Title: Dash turn indicators on all the time
Post by: Texagon on July 10, 2011, 03:14:54 PM
I'm starting to work on some electrical issues with the 88.5 Samurai and I had a question. I'm not great at electrical stuff but obviously something is wired wrong here. My dashboard turn indicators are on all the time. The previous owner solved this by putting a piece of electrical tape across them to hide them. Ugh.

So when I put the turn indicator on the corresponding light goes OFF-ON OFF-ON OFF-ON instead of the ON-OFF it's supposed to do. Has anyone seen this before? I'm sure it's probably an easy fix but I'm not exactly sure where to start on this one.

Check the grounds for the turn signal, they cause all sorts of trouble like this

I had a very small piece of wire get into the plug when I plugged the cluster back in and it did some weird stuff like this, I guess it shorted across a couple of the flat wire on the board. I bought one with a tach in it so who knows where it had been!

Sounds like someone has wired the ground for that particular circuit to a +12V line.

That is the cleanest off road dash I have ever seen. ;D Hope you figure it out.

You should see under the dash. Looks like someone got an electrical science kit as a kid.
