Title: Smokin?

Ok I have heard this is a common problem but my 88 sammi has a real problem with smokin , especially when accelerating . I was told it was the gasket behind the fuel pump. I installed a new gasket when i rebuilt the motor but it is still smokin badly. I am lookin for a fix for this issue or to find out what else it may be.

Is it coming off the engine or out the tail pipe? Color of the smoke?

If you rebuilt the engine, why is the engine still smoking?

If the smoke is from under hood and not out the tail pipe
then look at valve cover gasket and the distributor housing
O-ring
