Sidekick has been doggish for a year or so, intermittently. Sometimes it will run like a raped ape, others it is very slow on accelerating. This was the case with the stock tires as well as the 235/75 r 15s.
So I finally got around to checking the crankshaft keyway and it is beautiful. Good news and bad. I don't have to futz around with KB weld. Bad--well, I haven't found my problem! It hadn't skipped a tooth either (it would have been consistently doggish if it did).
Suggestions?

YES, make sure to torque that bolt to 94ftlb!!

Did you check the cam timing before you puller it apart?
could it be the cam is out of time a tooth or 2 causing the
sluggishness?

Wild,
It was spot on. I did advance the timing to 8 degrees btdc. We will see how that works...

Ranger,
Adjusted the timing per the page you sent at 8* BTDC. It does run a little better.
