Title: Gijoe Theme Samurai
Post by: Spookzuk on August 03, 2011, 06:16:22 PM
I'm new to the forum. You can go ahead and flame me but I am building a Gijoe theme Samurai. I have four samurais(3verts 1tintop) in various states and as of now I am going through all of the mechanical getting it road worthy. The best samurai I have is the 86 tin top. I want to sell the tin top body only and put the modified vert body on its chassis.  The desired body style I want to end up is this  http://www.google.com/imgres?q=cobra+stinger&um=1&hl=en&safe=off&sa=N&tbm=isch&tbnid=oJhy9YKgHhlP1M:&imgrefurl=http://generalsjoes.com/reviews/2009/anniversary/Vehicles/stinger.html&docid=w71k_YhAONoW2M&w=650&h=478&ei=UfE5TqTnIsy_gQfVtIDQBg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=548&vpy=234&dur=474&hovh=192&hovw=262&tx=113&ty=132&page=2&tbnh=138&tbnw=177&start=22&ndsp=22&ved=1t:429,r:7,s:22&biw=1041&bih=892 (http://www.google.com/imgres?q=cobra+stinger&um=1&hl=en&safe=off&sa=N&tbm=isch&tbnid=oJhy9YKgHhlP1M:&imgrefurl=http://generalsjoes.com/reviews/2009/anniversary/Vehicles/stinger.html&docid=w71k_YhAONoW2M&w=650&h=478&ei=UfE5TqTnIsy_gQfVtIDQBg&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=548&vpy=234&dur=474&hovh=192&hovw=262&tx=113&ty=132&page=2&tbnh=138&tbnw=177&start=22&ndsp=22&ved=1t:429,r:7,s:22&biw=1041&bih=892)
Also I am really wanting to put some XD Addict wheels on but they don't have the right bolt circle available. Is there anyway to change the bolt circle on the samurai? And what size wheels and tires would look accurate for this build? I just want to add that I wont be doing any heavy offroading with this one. And yes I am going to chop the roof and build an entire front clip as close to this as possible.Any suggestions would be appreciated.

you might have to go to a rotary engine and put the radiator in the rear and get a couple of wheel adapters.

IThe front clip is the big issue. I may have just make a hood that has the scoops on each side and leave the middle level. Not 100% accurate but I wouldn't know where to start dealing with the rotary engine and the mechanical nightmare of installing one. I did think about doing a body lift to gain some engine clearance but a couple inches wouldn't be enough.
