I am trying to install warn locking hubs. I started on the passenger side and i can't get the snap ring on. There is not enough axle sticking out. i also replaced all the bearings. 86 Samurai. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks

OK, this is a normal think happening here.
Take one of the locking hub bolts, screw it into the hole in the center of the axle shaft, PULL OUT....
the snap ring grove will re-appear.
It helps if you have a "Beer Hustling" buddy help with the project, But it can be done alone.

I did that, but not enough pulls out. Need another 1/4 inch, maybe a little less. Thanks

Since it's a straight axle application, you don't need to use the snap ring. We don't, however, suggest you preload the axle with the bolt and washer to roce the axle outboard.
