The large black canister at the bottom of the picture is your Evap canister. It is for emissions control and it is something you definitely do not want to get rid of. I am unable to tell what the container above it is from the picture. More information would be extremely helpful...make / model, year, engine size, etc... ::) Hope that helped a little bit :)

I think that smaller unit above the evap can is your altitude sensor for the ECU.

thanks guys. i knew what the evap canister was but wasnt sure about the other two solenoids.
This is an 88 zuk with the stock 1.3 in it

The smaller one at the top is the Engine compartment temperature sensor and the other one like Capt. said is the High Altitude Compensator (HAC) ;D
-
so do i really need them?
-
Ya, especially if you live in an emission control inspection area.
And if you want the stock carb to work right, don't remove them
-
IM not worried about emitions and i have a weber carb... so what do ya think?
-
if you have a weber carb they can be removed

thanks man
