This is the process for disabling your auto headlights. It is super easy and can be done faster than reading this thread. You will only need a short flat screwdriver to accomplish this task. Do not confuse auto headlights with Daytime running lights. They are both systems to automatically turn on your headlights, but daytime running lights are always on, and auto headlights turn on when it gets dark out. To have complete manual control of your headlights, you also need to disable your DRL's. This information is from this forum, just wanted to add pics for all to see.
Do At Your Own Risk
Disabling your Auto Headlights
The sensor is located on the passenger side dash.

I used the end of my multi-screwdriver. Just pry up the sensor.

Disconnect this cable and stuff it back down in the dash. Re-insert the sensor and you are done.

Is that something the mods do?

Got tired of lights burning out, worked great thanks for the write up. ;D

They apparently don't have a moderator for the Gen 2 forum. See the "Volunteer needed" want add thread at the top.
Yes, there are quite a few pearls of information on the 2nd Gen that could be organized and cataloged on the forum.

Lol. I was stumped by your post nprecon. I had to read the posts to see u were replying to my post from a year ago.
O think this sub forum would be a wealth of info if we had a dedicated mod. Ive considered it, but with three kids under 4, I find my devotable time spontaneous. Nprecon, you seem to post lots of good info, have you considered modding?

Yeah, I know this thread is older than heck, but this is a great tip. Every once in a great while I'm driving in a snowstorm, and the light reflecting off the snowflakes is blinding. I can see better if I turn off the headlights and drive by the flashers. (Should install some dedicated fog lights.)
