I replaced my my clutch cable yesterday. When i removed the old cable, i found that the two clutch cable clips that go somewhere down by the bottom of the radiator were missing. The previous owner had used plastic tie straps to attach the cable to various wire harness, power steering lines, etc. the only one i have, is the clip up top on the strut tower. can someone shoot me a pic of the 2 clips that go down near the bottom of the radiator so i can see where they attach and what they look like? If i cant find some in a salvage yard, I'll probably just fab something up, just want to know what the originals look like, and where they attach.
Thanks in advance

If you want a set of clips you can give Hawk Suzuki a call. They should be able to find a set for you.

Thats where I got my new cable, they also sent methe joint pin. Don't know what happened, but the old cable was missing the joint pin. I figured I'd try to find some local first to keep from paying shipping all the way to tx just for 2 little clips. Its just a little hard to find many here in the ft worth area. All the manuals I've seen only show the clips in a schematic, I can't find a picture of the clips installed on the kick. Looked around n can't figure out where they attach. You know where I can find a pic of the clips installed?
Thanks

About 1/4 way down this page there's a diagram that shows the clips:
http://www.kick-fix.com/tranny/clutch/clutch-on-kick.html (http://www.kick-fix.com/tranny/clutch/clutch-on-kick.html)
It doesn't show where they mount, but it looks to me like they're just pass thru type hooks, just to keep the cable from twisting under pressure. My guess is you'll be fine with tie wraps doing the same function as long as they aren't causing the cable to bind.

I only recall there being 2 clips, instead of 3.
One bolts to the drivers side fenderwell, one is held on by the lower drivers side radiator shroud bolt. If there is a 3rd, then it might be held on by the lower passengers side radiator shroud bolt.....but that would put a lot of angle on the clutch cable, I would only use the drivers side shroud clip.

just going by the schematic i looked at, it shows 1 clip at the strut tower, and 2 clips down low near bottom of the radiator. i guess you are right that they could both be held on with the lower shroud bolts

ok, got the clutch cable in, and clips installed. adjusted the cable where I think it needs to be, but i'm having a little issue. when i start up and drive, shifting is smooth, highway driving and city street driving shifting is smooth. If i get in stop and go traffic, and have to use the clutch alot, it starts to get harder to get the trans to shift into gear, especially reverse. any thoughts??
thanks in advance

Sounds like either the adjustment is a little off (adjust it so you have a little more pedal travel before the clutch starts to engage), or the clutch needs replaced.
