I know not to belive everything I see on youtube, so I figured I would ask a (probably) stupid question. I've recently seen a few videos of people that claim to have a GSXR 750 motor in there Sammy/Sidekick/Tracker. The best video I saw of the running motor looked like it had a GSXR intake/carbs on an 8 valve 1.6. Is this a legit swap? I did like the look of the intake/carbs on it, but it was an 8 valve... would the intake also bolt up to the 16 valve? Obviosly it would eliminate the intake and Fuel injection setup. Is this worth my time to research or am I better off just building my 16v?

I don't think I would go with a 750, a 1200 maybe, but that is going to be
a revvy motor, and probably more suitable to sand toy use, not a DD or
trail rig, those engines just don't develop the torque you want, but it would
look cool with a quartet of sidedrafts

Yes there are several setups that use GSXR carbs with a custom intake mani for the 1.3sammi engine, and for the 8v 1.6L.
It isnt the entire engine, just the carbs from the GSXR. Over on zukikrawlers check out Geckocycles, he makes the mani's for this swap.

It sounded interesting and looked really cool. I'm guessing it's more work than it's worth to go from FI to sidedraft carbs. Thanks for the solid info guys.
