Title: Rollcage
Post by: ed oorklep on May 13, 2004, 05:19:17 AM
Hi all,

I'm thinking about making a Roll-cage in my Tracker. I've seen the Calmini Sport Bar (http://www.puresuzuki.com/Sidekick-Cagefs.jpg) and like to make something simular but then also over the rear seats and with some diagonally placed tubes also, has anyone done this allready here??? Does anyone have any pictures of such Cages?
Thanks for any replies.

I have, but all of my pics are on my computer at the house. I'll try and remember to post some in the morning.

From what I've been told from some of the shops around here is, Its cheaper to buy the sportCage and add to it. Some of the bends, like the ones around the dash, aren't easy and its worth the steel alone.

:( That's shitty but can't they be routed through the dash or something instead of around it?????

the straighter the down tubes the stronger the roll cage will be.

I ran mine streight down in front of the dash. It's in the way climbing in and out (a little bit) but not bad.

It's tough, because you have to weld it up inside the vehicle.
But yeah, adding to the Calmini sport cage would probably be easiest.  I'm guessing that shipping to the Netherlands would be outrageous, though.  I think the shipping on mine, from Bakersfield, CA, to Denver, CO was something like $100.

We still need some pics of you people who built your own cage/modified a prefab one! I need some ideas for a cage, too ;D

Yeah indeed shipping will cost pretty very much  :-[ Now I'm looking to buy a calmini winch bumper that will cost me about 800 euro's (that's about 950 :o USD) so it will cost me twice as much as it costs you guys, although I can't make a bumper of that quality (I hope) for that price myself, but a rollcage will be an option..... ;D
