Jimny.
Word of warning about diesels. The diesel installation in the 06-on GV sold in Europe seems to give rise to a lot of trouble. It seems mostly to be associated with the emission control provisions, but other problems do seem to arise far more frequently than with the gasoline-engined models. Maybe it's because the engines are designed for front wheel drive transverse installations, and the adaptation has not been well engineered.
Whatever it is, there are some pretty disgruntled diesel GV owners over this side of the pond.
This may not apply to the S. American models, of course.

AFAIK there's no diesel engines on Trackers and Vitaras sold at Mexico market, even, the Vitaras weren't sold in Mexico, only Trackers under the name of Chevrolet and Geo, and all of those engines were gasoline.

Well that's sort of a bummer...
Still, Im just happy to see that the free trade agreement is moving forward, especially in the auto industry. Mixing up the markets will only encourage manufacturers to produce quality global vehicles.
