Title: Quick Transmission help?
Post by: lee183 on September 30, 2011, 01:14:33 PM
Is the output shaft supposed to spin while in natural?
I have a 86 Suzuki samurai i have the transfer case off and just the transmission drive shaft on and i started it an let go of the clutch a little and the drive shaft started spinning. sorry if its a stupid question a little new to transmissions.
Thanks for any help.

My wheels spun when my tracker was up on jack stands and in neutral. Wheels stopped when I pushed in the clutch. I think it's probably normal. Maybe the trans oil is just pushing on the gears enough to transfer motion from one gear to another. This is just a guess though :)

Yep, it will do that sometimes.
