alright, i have a 90 kick 2dr. swapped in Grand Vitara front AND rear coils. rears dont quite fit, bit tight on the upper mount.
front gave 3" of lift bit stiffer, rear gave 1"-1.5" of lift. didnt really change the spring rate.
i need to get the rear up higher to match up. its not bad with no weight in it but with my gear in it squats pretty good in the back. looking for another 1.5 to 2" im always running around with gear in the back or a trailer off the back end. so a bit stiffer coil would be nice.
ive been reading and there seems to be some talk of front jeep cherokee coils in the rear for a bit of lift. heard everything from 2 inches of lift to 6 inches....
spring rate for the jeep coils (although for a set of lifted ones) 240. stock 2dr rears are 156.

I am running a set of TJ front coils in the back of my 93 two door. I cut 1/2 of large end coil off. Then I put it in 6" vise and squeezed it smaller so it would fit in upper spring mount w/rubber insulator. I used the torch to heat the smaller end of spring and open up the coil so it would fit over the spring mount.
The ride is springy, not harsh. A new set of shocks would do wonders. Now I have to raise front to match.

I put the original front coils, with 2" rear spacers in the rear. It's stiff but doesn"t sag with a load.

Either swap in different coils or use some coil spacers with your existing springs.

WELL. did some digging and getting only half the info im needing.
cherokee coils are 17.7"free height with the weight on it its 15"
inside diameter of 4.04"and wire diameter of .531"
there are 3 different ones though
2.5L
2.5L heavy/4.0L
and 4.0L heavy
cant get ppi on them though.

ok, got under my truck yesterday and started looking at my coils. ive got 11 inches sitting there, dont know what uncompressed. the weight i have in the truck is about what it usually runs around carrying daily then it gets loaded up with gear when we go out. truck squats 1-2 inches when that happens...
i carry a 4x8 trailer as well alot as its also the family and friends pickup truck (best truck out there, bed is removable when i dont need it, it bends in the middle to get to tight spots, and i still can carry 4 people and gear in the cab)
i need to up the spring rate on these springs, they just arnt enough. the rears are out of a 2003 grand vitara if i remember right. outside diameter is 3.5-3.75inches, so the cherokee springs are a bit oversized. in both length and diameter.
anyone know of any other springs that can be swapped in with the proper dimensions? higher spring rate and 2 inches longer...
