Title: hood flew up and boom!!!!

well my girlfriends samurai that i have been telling her is the best machine in the world wouldnt pass smog for the third time today so i worked on it after a 10 hour day and got it running cherry so i took it out and was going 65 when BOOM the hood flew up and smashed into the windshield.  :-[ i dont know what i am going to tell her man i mean this hardtop has been a pain in the rear, i was so close and now i need a windshield and a hood. anyone have either of these two items and can ship fast fast fast please help me out, our suzuki family is in a time of extreme need. thanks, 6 feet

btw we got it cause it was a cherry black now i have to match the paint on another hood  :o

At least you were in a hardtop. That happened to me once while driving a Triumph TR-3 (old English sportscar for those too young to remember). The hood flew up, crashed into the windshield, broke the hinges and then whacked me on the top of the head before flying off to the rear.

Ouch! That must of been ultra scary.  :o

Judging from what I have read so far, HAWK seems to be Suzuki heaven on earth.  I would call them too. (http://www.zukiworld.com/public_html/YaBBImages/thumbup.gif)

found a windshield an hour away for 60 bux rock on but i still need a hood.

Had the same thing happen to me. Sad thing was that the hood was the only rust free piece left on the vehicle. :-/

A Sidekick hood is about $120-140 new... Sammy costs about $100 more. Paint's about $100, if you DIY.

That'll give you a target price for used.
