Title: Oil Pan Removal
Post by: moosehunter on October 18, 2011, 11:59:07 AM
My oil pan is badly corroded and needs to be replaced. Anyone have an idea about the best method and how long it takes?

Just did this tonight.

Took two hours on a hoist. Dropped the diff, but did not pull the PS axle. Unbolted DS, pulled the diff mounts and popped the PS axle out. Had to pull the idler arm off the frame and jack up the motor about an inch to get the pan off.

Dorman no longer makes the pan. Carquest couldn't get me one. Advance Auto got me a Spectra for about $80.
