So I just bought a Samurai a few days ago and it has worked great. It won't start now unless I jump it. The battery is good and it just cranks and cranks under it own power. As soon as I throw cables on it from my 95 honda it starts right up...?? Once it starts, it runs great. Wonder if there is a common wiring issue I should be looking into. Any help would be great!

might consider a new battery. I don't know if there is a minimum voltage required to power the samurai ECU. I have a Miata and if the batery is worn down below 9 volts it will not power the ECU. Has enough juice to crank the motor, but ecu is "dead" at that point.

Well the other day the Battery read 12.8 volts and it wouldn't start. I ended up trying to start it so many times that I killed the battery completely, so I took the battery to be tested and charged. Tested good, and with a fresh charge, it started right up. Looks like it is the alternator at this point. With the vehicle running the cables still only read 12.45v and I also put my volt meter on the single post of the alternator and it read 12.3v. Should be up near 14v if I'm not mistaken.
