We took first place in the first heat and first overall with 2 more second place finishes. Bud rolled on the first heat and is out for the weekend, Dave ZWO took two first ace finishes and a dnf on the first heat.
Tomorrow Derek takes control and tries to get a nother first place overall finish for Trouble Racing.
Eric has color matched zip ties under his rig. :)

The second day ended with the guest driver earning a compressed and fractured spine on the first lap. So fixing the rear springs is a requirement for next year.

Derek is back up and moving, it looks like he will just need some good drugs and rest time.
-
Thats good to hear.
Please spend less time thinking about those springs and more time thinking about the shocks. Any spring will bounce. Slowing the bounce down is the important part.

Great news on Derek. Bud's tumble reminded me that our rigs have a limit of what they can handle. Derek's event made me think about the limits our bodies can handle.
I'm surprised by the number of conversations over the weekend turned to the discussion of shocks. When I asked the mechanic of Desert Dingo (vw beetle) how thier rig holds up to the miles of racing... he smiled and said shocks.

I know the springs aren't what I want, so I need to replace them so I can get the shocks tuned to match. Video from the first moto is up.

Nice video. Bud sure wasn't going to let Kris get past. A good race is always fun to be in.
Congrat's to all of the ZW racers!!
