So I' m going on week 2 with my Samurai and tracking down the little gremlins. Currently the shifter is stuck in 3rd gear. This is the second time it has happened, but the first time I was able to move the shifter a few times to free it. This time it is really stuck. I took apart the shifter to see if I could find anything obvious, but nothing really stuck out. I did find that the shifter locating bolt is broken, but the "locating" portion is still there. I just have the stock 87 1.3 engine and tranny in there. Any ideas?

Both LOW RANGE, and TRAIL TOUGH have shifter sheet bushings that should fix it. Probably want to change both the transmission one and Transfer Case one at same time.

Ya I ordered the locating bolt and the shifter bushing from trail tough yesterday, so I am just waiting for that to come in. I really hope that solves it, but I think a rebuild is in the near future. I am getting a lot of bearing/ mechanical noise... :(

If it breaks again Hawk Suzuki has a replacement kit that uses a larger locator bolt then stock.
What does it take to fix the shifting issue? Pulling the shifter and manually changing the gear?
