Hello everyone,
I have a 86 sammi with the all so powerful 1.3 :-), it runs great and idles fine but when i start it it will spit out black wet carbon out of the tailpipe. is this rich or lean??? and how do i adjust it or what can i do to try and fix this problem. when running i do smell the fumes very strong in the cab!! any advice will help !

that sounds normal with the fuel that we have now a days, make sure that your tail pipe does not go straight out the back but goes out the side of your rig.

Yeah, gas with ethenol in it smells terrible, but it does sound like you have a rich condition and maybe an eshaust leak right under the cab. It's got a carb so any number of things can make it smell and run rich.
