Post by: Soupy on November 06, 2011, 12:19:32 PM
Did Suzuki ever offer a 4 door convertible option?

I'm going to say no - to the best of my knowledge they didn't - however - I'll check the parts catalogue in a bit and see what that turns up.

The way the top fits in your photo, it kinda looks like the front section of my Bestop on my 2 dr Tracker convertible/hardtop.

I'll bet money that is not factory.

I do have a 4 door with a sunroof.  But I am sure it was added in after the fact.

It could be created with a cut-off saw and welder(for the most part), the top wouldnt be too difficult to shorten to fit, but that is alot of work.

That may very well be original, it is afterall a canadian 4dr and they recieved a few more models of track/kicks than we did down here in the USA.

That is the Track/kick I've always wanted.

Sorry - no 4 door convertible SideKick in the parts catalogues, not in the US & not in Canada.

I just talked to the guy and he said it was factory.  Said he's owned 41 Trackkicks and this is the only one he has seen.  I wish he was closer to me or I had time to go get it.

Did he buy the trackick brand new?  If not, then he is just guessing.
Does he have any paperwork (window sticker) showing this being a factory "option" or "add on"?  If not, then he has no proof it was a factory option.
I've owned just as many trackicks, seen hundreds in person, and probably thousands online and I've never seen a 4 door with this mod.  Never even heard of it, until this thread.
I still call BS on it being factory.

I agree it may not be factory.  But it is cool.  I've thought about doing the same for years but just don't have the skills.

I would love to see this in person and compare the sheet metal work to a 2dr conv and really inspect the chassis for grafting of 2dr sheet metal onto the 4dr.

I imagine all that was done was the roof was cut off and patched up.  I doubt they actually took a 2 door and grafted it to a 4 door body.

I was in Cozumel Mexico last week.  I saw a few newer 4 door Trackers with the full roof cut out and a snap-on soft top installed.  The cross-members were still in place but the roof was open.  I wish I could have gotten a picture of one.  I'm sure they were locally done, not factory but they were interesting.
