I have a Weber carb on my Samurai and it is running extremely rich.
I went to adjust the air fuel mixture screw and noticed that there is no spring behind the screw so it won't hold it's setting, i had to tighten it back all the way in.
My question is where can i find this little spring for my weber carb, ive had a hard time finding website that sells parts for the carb.

This is weird, it looks like it's not a Weber carb, it is stamped AUTOLITE and it has a sticker on it that says "re manufactured by Holley".............. Anyone have any idea?
-
there are some weber knockoffs out there. made in spain mabe, and empi was selling one also.
i think i've heard holley mentioned, but don't recall autolite.
you could probably use weber parts as i think castings were the same if it were empi or spanish.
an appropriate size generic spring should work for you(dormans?) mabe. i'd try a local carb. savy shop or good auto parts store.
expect you're already looking that way.......

Pull the spring from any old carb they are all about the same size anyway. Note if you have the air fuel mixture all the way in and it still idles you have much bigger issues with your carb than that spring. You float may be way to adjusted way too high among a host of other possible issues.

UPDATE: I got some money together and ordered a new carb from webercarbsdirect.com for cheap and installed it.
This new carb is awesome, i don't notice much improvement as far as performance (little bit) but as far as reliablility and a smooth acceleration it is great.

Glad Santa Dropped Off a carb for X-mas.
with any 1.3 L, there is no "Snake Oil" 100 HP in a box cure to the
Just Bigger than a Sears Lawn Master engine that the 1.3L is.
I found the Weber Conv. to be easier to tune, better throttle band,
On my rig; 31's w/4.9 T-Case/stock exhaust less Cat.; the power band
starts at about 2800 rpm to 4700 rpm and you can "Buzz It"
and have open wheel'n HP at 5500-6000 rpm if you want to hit a
hill climb and stay on it. (Sand Dunes ETC)
Try it out, and if you want, I can let you in on a few extra HP with a simple die grinder, couple beers Sat. afternoon
Intake Tuner.

Check to see if you have a vacuum leak at the adaptor plate.
Did you Loctite the studs ? they can & will magically come loose.
Also use "Meteric" vac tubing to the Dist. Vac Advance.
Just my past experiences with a Weber Swap.

If you you are not running with a fuel pressure regulator you will need to.
Your manual fuel pump puts out around 4.5 psi the "weber" will run best around 2.5 psi
-
where do i find or purchase a fuel pressure regulator?

If you go to the shiny chrome 350 section of your local auto-part store you can find generic ones that you can place in-line.

The rubber bit on the end of my front drivers side bumpstop has broken off ans is now bouncing around inside the spring wondering if you guys knew how to fix repair or find a new one of these?
-
|removethispart|@Drone637 if my fuel pressure is low wouldn't it make the engine run lean? Im not real experienced with air fuel mixture and Weber said that it comes setup to just hookup and go unless you are running a lower cam then i would have to re jet it but other than that its "supposed" be ready to go as is.

There is a difference between pressure and Volume.

An Autolite carb is NOT a Webber or a Webber knock off.
It's a Ford 2bbl.
It's actually a better carb in off angle situations.
It , like a Webber, runs best at 2.5 - 3 lbs.
Never seen one on a Zuke .....Without the Pinto motor under it....
Have fun guys....Boxcar...
