Title: Noob to forum and 96 tracker distributor question
Post by: Jebers53 on November 22, 2011, 08:42:38 AM
Just got my first tracker 96 16v 2 door 4x4 (pics coming ), and since mechanically challenged my first stop to my mechanic, he says major leak at distributor. Needs adapter seal? Apparently an o ring that seals distributor to head? # 91174147 Can't find anywhere on line... Can you just RTV seal? Or wait and measure seal and custom order to size? Any suggestions much appreciated.

Very common leak. Don't sweat too much.

Check this Site for Great Info! - Kick-Fix.com

Here's the Distributor page - http://kick-fix.com/buy-parts.html#Dizzy-rings (http://kick-fix.com/buy-parts.html#Dizzy-rings)

Nothing is too difficult if you have the internet. You have a whole world's worth of knowledge |removethispart|@ your fingertips. If you can't find it you can usually find someone who knows where to look.

I would just silicone it.  I do that to all the disty housings and they don't leak afterwards.
