DId some thinking this past weekend with respect to my local dealer dumping the Suzuki franchise.
I got a VM from the area zuke rep that said oh, your next closest dealer is down in wexford. Well I already knew that so this was of little help.
I called that dealer and they said rather reluctantly they could do warranty work but they offer no vehicle for loan unless I rent a car from them for about 30 bucks a day.
I also called the GM at my local dealer where I bought the vehicle, left two messages on his VM and never got a call back. Seems he can't be bothered to help a customer.
What it boils down to is I have an "orphan" vehicle here and in this area, zuke stuff is near impossible to find. Even the dealer had to wait two weeks just to get an alternator when mine puked at 4K. I can see getting any kind of repairs done on this thing being a pain in the ass. I don' t need those kinds of headaches.
Tomorrow I will call the bank to find the payoff and see what deal I can work out to dump this and get a vehicle that can be serviced anywhere I go.
Shame too, this little rig was good to me but no sense in driving something that can't be fixed should it break.
Its been nice being on this board and I leave knowing that you guys are tops on my list. Good luck to all and may god bless each and every one of you.
Sorry zig, no zukimelt this year for me. :-[

Call Suzuki 714.996.7040 and ask to speak with someone who can help you with your problem. It doesn't sound like Suzuki can actually 'win' in your particular situation but who knows? :)
Good luck.

I dont think you HAVE to own a zook to enjoy these boards. No reason to leave. Besides, you have already planted and let germinate the evil seed. You will buy another zook someday.
-
simply go to your chevy dealer and buy an tracker with a v6!

Out of protest I will be junking my Sami to the nearest junkyard. If they can't treat there costomers better than that than bye bye zookie. Hey, What do you guys think of those CRV's? They're hot!
J/K
Sorry about your probs! Nothing personal here but I think I'd be O.K. with them not supplying the rental car. After all they(the dealer) didn't make the sale so they probably feel that they don't owe it to you. After all you didn't buy a high dollar sports car or something. CRV's R not Hot :P
-
even if you sell yer hamster, stick around! ;D if i were to get rid of my zuk (i dont plan to for a long while) 5 years+ ;) i think i would still stick around, thats if every one didnt mind, which i dotn think they would. So stick aroudn no matter what happens.

SAMMY HAMSTER HOPE YOU DECIDE TO STAY........GO GET YOURSELF A TRACKER FROM YOUR LOCAL GM DEALER ;D.... MATTY D. 8)

I know how frustrating it can be getting parts. I started to have a REAL hard time gettin gparts for my 90 Trooper. The local dealer(which incedently I bought my Tracker from) dropped Isuzu's. Even after market stuff was getting near imposible up where I live, I had to get an exhaust (stock) form 2 diffrent places bacause they simply just didn't carry the whole thing. Hope you change your mind though, I don't think you'll be sorry, you'll probably be glad in the end. Take care, Dave ;D

Sam-Ham!! Where are you, dude? What's going on? ???

Possible salvation latest news.
I spoke to the "regular" service writer at my former dealer.  He put me on to Hansen AUto, close to where I live.  He told me that they (my former dealer) will NOT do warranty work as they no longer legally sell zukes.
I called down there to Hansen Auto and got a person on the line who told me they have the ball rolling to pick up the zuke franchise, selling and servicing zukes.
He told me they will be in a position to honor the warranty on my rig.   2-3 weeks is the timeframe.
I asked about the equipment to read zuke codes, parts, etc.  I was assured all that would be in place.
Funny thing is, this place right now is a used car lot so I don't have a clue as to where they are going to stack new zukes to sell.  Nor do I know if they are going to get the vehicles from my old dealer or what. ÂÂ
The guy did disclose one thing.  He is under the impression that Zuke dropped the dealer, not the other way around as I was intially told.  Reason being is that the dealer did not promote zukes aggressviely enough.  He told me zuke is being very aggressive about promoting these rigs and I guess that follows as my former dealer had a piddly sign over one door and that was it.  If you did not look in the yellow pages, then you'd never know about them carrying zukes.
This dealer obvioiusly has other fish to fry selling HOndas and NIssans.  So zuke was the bastard child and when push came to shove, it was goodbye zuke.
I have prayed to the gods of Hamamatsu for guidance on this.  They have told me to be patient and that I would not be left behind.  The Council of 7 in Hamamatsu is meeting later this month and they will reveal to me their final plans.  I am eagerly awaiting the results.  I hope so, sitting cross legged on the ashphalt in front of my rig was getting umcomfortable.
Hopefully this Hansen Auto gets it going on and can sell and service zukes.  If so, then I will keep my rig and be back here in true form giving hagen a hard time about air time etc.

YEY! ;D

i dont mean to be mean dude..but i dont know why u are making such a huge deal out of this i am buying a 71 camaro ( no help from any dealers there) my dad has a 64 1/2 (beater)and a 66 mustang no help there either
the zuki dealer from my house ( i live in cali remember the home of cars now a days) its about 1hr from here
the last and only time my moms 01 GV was at the dealer it wassent being "worked" on for 24hrs so under the zuki warrenty they are not obligated to provide a rental for free...so i really dont get why ud up and sell the car over something trivial

That's good news so far! I'm happy. :)
