Is there a place that has all the Sammy parts online? I have a lot og work to do! Jimmy. ( 1988 samurai)

It may be called an igniter? It is 1" square with 4 prongs on the bottom. One wire goes to frame, one to battery, one down towards the starter and one bundles in a larger wrap of wiring. The engine will not crank without it. Help!

How about a picture?
What you're describing does not sound like an OEM part - the Samurai does not come with a little black starter relay, although some owners add one in an attempt to fix a problem with the starter, and it also does not sound like an ignitor - removing the ignitor should also not prevent the engine from cranking.
It might also help if you told us what the problem you're experiencing is - if I were to assume that what you're looking at is a relay that someone added, and since you say it won't crank without it, I would assume that it cranks with it, so it sounds like it's working.

Just got this thing, so it's all Greek to me. 1st foreign vehicle I have owned in 25 years! I did figure out it is NOT OEM, so I have the electrical knowledge to remove it and look for the real problem. Thanks for responding. I will use this forum a lot. Pulled the tranny last night (what a b$%ch) changed the clutch and fought to get tranny back in.. Today it's the brakes and changing all the fluids. It was used (stock) as a mud truck and never maintained. It will be a fun project! 1988 tin top. Again, thanks and I will keep you posted.

Call Hawk Strictly Suzuki (1-888-SAMURAI). If you explain to them what you are needing, they usually have it ised or new in stock and will ship out same or next day.
