Title: Are 2wd and 4wd manual transmissions the same? TRACKER

Is the transmission in a 2wd tracker the same as the transmission in the 4wd trackers? Im referring to the 5-speed manuals in a 89-95 trackers with the 1.6 8v

In what way?  If you are asking if you could put a transfer case on the back of a 2wd tranny and make it a "4wd", then no, it is not the same.  Some of the internal parts are the same though.  And the bellhousings are the same.  But that's about it.

well i need a new trans since mine went out before my last offroading trip. i have a 4wd. i found a deal on a trans but it is from a 2wd. i was just hoping they would work.
