Looking for a 16V short block, basicly crankcase and head that's in rebuildable condition. Want to build one to be ready to swap into mine. Don't need any of the other stuff, intake or accessories. Needs to be reasonably close to New Jersey for pick up.

Yeah, knew it was a longshot. All you guys out west are hoggin' all the good parts rigs. I will pay for crateing and FedEx ground shipping, if anybodys willing to box one up east of the Mississippi. I can pick up a complete JDM in Philly with every accessory and they'll load it in my truck for me for $700. I'm looking to spend about half that for a buildable short block. I know somebodys got one takin up floor space in the shop, waiting on a project that's never gonna happen. Use some holiday cash?

Funny.

Why spend all that for shipping. Go to the parts yard I told you about before. They will sell you the engine for $120 and pull the engine for you for an additional $30. They have lots of Trackers there.

That's a heckofa deal for an engine, but looking at that aerial photo of the place and the fact that they " have no inventory lists , you must come look " makes me wonder if I can get out of there in 1 day with an engine. That place has to be at least a couple hundred acres or more. Do you happen to know if and where the Trackicks are and IF they even have a 16 valve engine? I'd be willing to make the trip if I was sure of getting an engine, for $150, pulled. That's a 6 hour round trip for me, I'd hate to waste the time and gas to find out there's no 16v engines.

call 'em up-- they'll know if they got trackicks.
I'd go with you for some items myself...

Every time we go there are at least 10-12 Trackicks. They have all the trucks located in the upper left part of their web picture so you don't have to hike the entire yard. Whether they have what you want is always the question but you will have fun and come home with other treasures. Weeekdays are less busy as far as getting drivetrains removed but even on weekends they are pretty fast. When they remove drivetrains they just haul the vehicle to a garage with a lift and with torch and cutters the drivetrains are dropped in amazingly short time. I have gotten a complete drivetrain minus the engine from a 97 Tracker in about a half hour. Gearjam came and got the engine a week later. Perhaps you have a You-Pull-It yard closer to you but we have fun everytime we go.

Sounds like it's worth the trip, no matter what. Now I just have to find the time for a day trip. Soon. thanks for the tip Skitime.
John, I guess you'd meet me up there?

If any of you guys go up there and they have some 92 or 93 4 door sidekicks with autos, I'd give you $50 for each ECM you could get and ship to me (the ECM number will be 33920-58B40 FED-AT). Looks like they get $20 an ECM, so it would at least offset the gas cost for driving up there.
I'd also do the same deal on any EFI (90-95) samurai ECMs you could get me. The EFI samurais have the gray metal cased ECMs, not the black plastic. The number on the EFI samurai ECMs are 33920-80C30, or 33920-81C30. EFI samurai ECMs are located behind the glove box, on the firewall, for those that aren't familar with samurais.
If anyone would pick up a few of the ECMs I am looking for, you can ship several in a USPS Flat Rate box for $10 or $15, depending on which size box you use.

OK Sky, sounds like I'm gonna make the trip. I'm probably going to wait until after Xmas when my job slows down in January, which it usually does. Right now I'm working 65 to 70 hours in 5 days and they would like me to work Saturdays too!

THANKS FUZZY!! No I didn't see it, and he's in western PA too. I posted to him and hope he gets back to me. He did say in the thread he's willing to toss it on a pallet and freight ship it. I hope he's still got it and willing. That would make my life much easier.
