Title: 87 Samurai spring sag
Post by: ajwilson46 on December 06, 2011, 04:23:13 PM
I have an 87 and the OEM springs are starting to sag like pants on a gay prison inmate. It has a three inch lift already so I cant afford to get new springs with more lift but I cant seem to find and OEM replacement springs!! any Ideas??

Besides that re-arching may work, but is getting pricey.

You can do your own if you have a press, saw it here I think.

We re-arched the springs using a pipe bender and a hammer, just went slowly.  Probably not the proper way to do it, but it worked for my trail only rig.  I also run a second #2 leaf spring on my RUF conversion to give the front springs a little more strength.

I haven't checked on Samurai's but I have bought 2' add a leaves for Chevy trucks from J C Whitney and they do a great job of adding a little lift to regain spring arch. Typically they run around $80.00 a set and they carry Rough Country brand.
