Title: 86 samurai removing the cat
Post by: leopoldsami on December 06, 2011, 05:19:50 PM
Will removing the cat on my samurai be a good idea or no? Or should i just reach into my pocket and get a new exhaust?

I guess I would ask why you want to. I run cat free with a regular muffler on my 87 Samurai. It had a Flowmaster on it when I got it but it was too loud for my liking.

Other than a cost savings in purchasing a cat I can't see any noticable advantage.

wont hurt it. might gain a horse or two if yours is clogged up pretty bad. just make sure it is legal to run without a cat where you live. none of my vehicles have cat's on them and the ones that have had to get inspections passed without a cat. we don't have air care here either mind you.
