Title: axle retainer clip?

hey i was just wondering if anyone new what the front axle retainer clip was acctully called on the outers. and is there suppoesd to be a washer with it aswell. i bought the truck the previes owner took them off.

Umm, I think it is just called a snap ring.  Yes, there is a flat washer than goes under the snap ring.
