Title: Wheeling this weekend...
Post by: Kreg on May 03, 2004, 01:53:32 PM
Went on a wheeling/camping excursion this weekend and this time I remembered my camera!

I never broke any drive train components, but I came home with a bit of body damage. (good thing I work part time in a body/paint shop ;D)

We discovered a few new trails, which had a few technical obstacles. The Tracker never got stuck once all weekend, and performed amazingly well.

Here’s some pics

Looks like you had fun.  ;) I just got back from a weekend of wheeling myself. Sorry, No pics. I had the intention of taking pics but never thought about it.  :-/ I tagged both front fenders though. I popped them back out and its hardly noticible. The orange really hides it well.   ;) I almost went into a nasty rollover when a tree saved me! left fender! $23 fender...  :-/  It was worth it!  ;D We have a new hill up at our place and I wanted to be the first to make it up. Its pretty narrow... even for a tracker! I tapped a tree on the Right front... fender#2! I didnt break anything either. Im really happy with the way my rig is working with my latest mods. I was a little worried that the 35s were going to start a breaking trend.  ::) I delivered a pretty good pounding this weekend. So far so good.  ;D

Looks like fun 8) I went to the Southern Trail fest this weekend but did not get to ride (was only there for 4 hr. :'() I did blast the X-90 up and down Windrock mountain a few times. It's great to watch the faces on the ATV's when an X-90 pulls up behind them and passes running up dirt and gravel mountain trails at high speed ;D The X was a blast drifting the curves 8)

As for the goggles...

Some of the trails we run are REAL tight and have a lot of out hanging branches.  I don't like wheeling with my windows closed because I like to see where my front wheels are when I'm doing technical stuff.  So I wear the goggles to save my eyes from branches.

A few weeks ago I got nailed in the eye by a big branch and I couldn’t open it for about an hour. So now I wear goggles.

Dorky? Maybe.  But at least I'll keep my vision.

Mirrors...

I already smashed two mirrors off my truck because of tight trails.  Now I just take them off to save myself some money.  :P

I got the hard top about a month ago.

My dad got a sidekick with a hardtop, but he wanted a soft top instead, so we traded.  ;D

I perfer the hardtop in the bush. Since most of the trails we run are pretty tight a soft top is just asking to get ripped.

Opps, too late.  ;)

I already hammered out the fender a bit. But I need to heat shrink the metal before I can form it any more.

Both of my rear fenders have pretty good dings in them also, so I'm gonna hammer them out this weekend.

I think I'm gonna paint my truck flat balck in the near future.  Its easy to touch up and it hides a bunch of the body damage.  :P
