My sammy is having a problem. Here is the story. First the truck ran great for the past 2 years driving it alot. I first noticed the sensor light poping on and off. When I first start it up and its cold it runs good. But just after a few minutes of warming up it starts to do this. If I just tap the gas it wants to die. I have replaced the following. Fuel Filter, Fuel Pump,Plugs, wires cap , rotor, PCV, O2 sensor. and even dropped the gas tank and flushed that out as well. But the problem seems to remain. I dont want to spend to much money on it as I am trying to get it running to sell it. Where should I go next. Can I remove the EGR and block off the tubes just to rule that out? Any Ideas. As I said I just wanna sell it. Its a great truck. But I was gonna keep it I would just do a swap and be done with the carb stuff. highcam|removethispart|@comcast.net Pittsburgh Pa.

With what you describe I'm saying it's the accelerator pump in the carb. You can get a rebuild kit from Napa and it should cure your problem. What's happening is when you hit the gas giving the engine more air it also needs more fuel. The accelerator pump squirts the fuel into the barrel of the carb to feed the engine.
If you take off the air cleaner top off the carb and look down the throat you should see it squirt gas when you hit the throttle
Hope I am clear. :-/

Now would that explain also how it runs good when I first start it up. The idle is higher. But If I start it up I can pull out and drive around my driveway. Put a cpl of minutes later thats when it starts to act up. Thanks for your help.
