Title: wipers not working
Post by: 4x4doug on January 02, 2012, 05:55:47 PM
where abouts is the wiper motor located? i tried to find it but couldnt seem to see it anywhere. is it accesable from under the dash or is it hidden somewhere? when i do find it is there anyway to fix it because i dont have the money for a new one, i priced it out at about $200 can. without a core. also i dont have any wiper arms and cant find any anywhere, are there any wiper arms off any other vehicle that will fit?

Look on the top of the passengers side of the dash and you will see a little pop out piece.  Take this piece out and the wiper motor is under it.
Sometimes they can be taken apart, the contacts cleaned up, relubed and put back together and they will work again.  Be careful when you take it apart though...it needs to go back together the same way it came apart.

Get to the motor and check it to see if it works or not before you get a new one. As a side note , I have a motor from a Sammy that works good. When I bought a new windshield frame it came with one on it so I kept it. Looks like new and works good. Probably let it go for $30.00 + shipping.

Sky is quite right there is a sinle short bolt that needs to go back exactly where it came from or the motor will seize.
