Title: axel seal questions on new buggy i bought
Post by: dirtzero on January 15, 2012, 06:38:00 AM
I used to have a fairly stock 87 samuri for offroad use only however i sold that and recently aquired a samuri buggy. Now i am very unfamiliar with the axel/suspention setup. I was told it needs new axel seals. Altho i and unsure what axel seals it takes.

it has cro-mo axles and birfield joints with a real hybrid axle using a sidekick center and sch 40 axle tube. I am used to messing with my stock zuk so this is a bit out of my league.

any help is apreciated

If you are lucky, the seals will have a "Seal Number" still visible on them.
Next you will have to get a caliper and measure the axle seal "Seat" and the axle dia. to get a GOOD
parts house to get a match.

If it is a hybrid rear housing, then it should be a trackick center section with samurai outers.  So it should just take the regular samurai axle seals.
The chromo fronts use the same axle seals as stock axles.
