Title: Wheel Spacers?
Post by: 99Trackerconv on May 01, 2004, 08:47:42 PM
Would it be a good idea to put 1" spacers so that I could put a 0 offset wheel on? ??? it's mostly because the centerbore is a hair too small. And I thought if I moved the wheel out it would fit.

Not really, 1" will not help the front hub
clearance, and for the price of spacers,
you could probably get the proper wheels.

Agreed.

Or just cut/grind the center so that it's big enough to fit over the hub :)

In addition, if you get the properly backspaced wheels, you won't be placing an additional 11 parts on each wheel, to fail (spacer, 5 studs, 5 extra lug nuts).

Not saying that the spacers on the market are by ANY means unreliable, or anything less than excellent products, only saying that the more parts you have, the more parts you have that can fail, due to unexpected manufacturing defects, which the spacer manufacturer has NO control over.

Not sure what size rims you have stock but on my 03 Vit it had 16inch. I wanted to go with 15's and I had to go with spacers. I have over 8,0000 miles with no problem and lots of offroad use.

Mine are 15x5.5 stockers and wanted to get 17's but the specific ones I want which are the Enkei RTS I'm getting two different responces to. One place says they'll fit and the other says they won't. I called Enkei and they weren't really sure either.
