Have you done a tune up recently?
-
well i just changed the oil...plug wires... the plugs are bout a year or so...wa else would u recomend to give a changen to?

pcv valve, air filter, muffler bearings.
-
well the whole exhaust and header was recentley changed.....the air fileter is pretty new its a cone filter i rigged onto the stock rubber tubing...so how much does a pcv valve cost and u think it would make a big diff? i was thinken bout doin the cap and rotor ...wa u think

...muffler bearings.
Leg pulling alert!
Check all vaccuum lines. A look at the distributor -- especially if it seems to have an oil leak -- would be in order.
-
bout 3 bucks? So u don't have an exhaust leak, right?
Is the check engine light on?

Muffler bearings lmao,
But i would check fuel filter and change the plugs, one round of bad gass one missfire and your plug will never fire the same again. Cap and rotor ? take off the cap and have a look see at the points think cap and rotor should cost >30
and i would use NGK vpower platnium plugs they are a lot more durable then other cheeper brands. "but run bosh in a volkswagon"
PCV , what does the inside of your radiator smell like can you smell gass or oil in the radiator.
maby take off your air filter and get a can of Throtel biody cleaner, or carb cleaner and folow the instructions" spray it in the intake while the motor is running.
When all else fails go get a can of SEAFOAM. unplug a main vacume hose and stuffit in the bottle while the motor is idel nd let it suck the stuff up untill the motor dies. wait i think 30 min start her back up agin. " THIS WILL GENERATE ENOUGH SMOKE TO FILL UP 1BLOCK"
But it cleans all the vacume ports and lines on the motor also foams up in the intake manifold and disolvs the carbon almost instantly.
oh read the instructions first.
my 2 cents worth

I ran out of blinker fluid one time and started runing rough , na just kidding .Go with new plugs to start with(quick & fairley cheep).

Not gonna lie was a little confused wit the "muffler bearings" lol......hmmm..... ill change the plugs and cap and rotor see how much of a diff if taht makes but the sea foam deff sounds like a good idea but i cant find it any where round here.......also the check engine light comes on every now and then but i think the o2 sensor might be bad cause it will go away for about a week at a time if i reset the comp....so im all confused. also not to sure which vacume line to unplug was hopen some one has a pic of which one they recomend. thanx

well i dunno about these thing but my wifes corrolla had a bad o2 sensor and when I changed it it ran alot smoother .....they help the ecm keep the correct air fuel ratios so to run efficiently
and change those muffler bearings thye are very problematic
-
mahimahimo ,
If you get a check engine light, then take it to a parts stroe have em read the code (usually free), and post up the code ...
The code will isolate your problem pretty well (and you know that's WHY it's there).
Some people diss ECM's but when it says code "66" and you look in the book and you have 3 things to check ... that doesn't suc

When my O2 sensor was bad the check engine light stayed on..... only if I reset the ecm by disconnecting the battery it went out but after driving like 20 miles it came on again.

Also could be a fuel injector, but then you should ahve a dead or half fireing cylendar, can cause the check engin light to come on, and it will report that your o2 sensor is bad, sometimes it can be a fuilfilter or fuel injector. but i have only ever had to replace one Injector, out of all the cars i have worked on. so not likely, For seaFoam go to NaPa and ask a sales rep, then go to jiffy lube and aske them were to get it, they may know, It is kinda hard to get your hands on

you want the motor treatment.

Bogging when cold sounds like a temp sensor problem.
I assume that when warm it runs like it always did?
If so it is likely a temp sensor not reading properly and not giving enough fuel enrichment. (if it was a carb it would be not enough choke). I would suggest taking it to your favorite repair shop, leaving it overnight with them so they can scan it during a cold start. That should isolate the problem.
That's my best "guess"
