Title: Welded aluminum front? (tracker/vit)
Post by: antt on May 03, 2004, 03:31:45 PM
hey guys, i got a spare aluminium housing diff complete for CHEAP, when i bought my replacement cv, so i'm thinking about welding it up to see how it goes.

has anyone done it before runnin largish (32's) tyres? i know it'll break, i'm not that worried cause i got it for fark all, but what do you reckon will go first, the centre or the cv's?

spose i should just try it and let ya's know how i go ;) ;D

With all my luck, I've broken 2 diff assemblies... one was the 3rd member and passenger mounts, the other was just the third member. I've yet to break a CV shaft, although I found out that my CV boot is ripped... >:(
