Title: Going to look at an X90 tonight
Post by: Digger on January 19, 2012, 01:21:51 PM
My GF and I are going to look at an X90 tonight to replace her Tracker. It's a 96 with 64K miles, 4x4, Auto, Air, supposedly no rust, still has the spare, spare cover and original T-top bags. Missing the original radio and owners manual. Buyer is asking $1500. Like I said, we are going to look at it tonight and if it looks good, I will try to work a deal with the seller. I am mentally preparing myself for the task at hand of laying on the ground to check out the frame, suspension and floorboards. The GF is looking forward to having an automatic, as well as a solid, removable roof. Anyone remember what the name of the funky blue-ish purple color is? That's what color this one is...

Well, I am picking it up. It is in almost perfect shape with no rust that I could find(and I crawled under it, too!) I'll have to put tires on it pretty soon and check the wiring in the radio, but otherwise it's practically perfect. I talked her down some, too. Just waiting on the fundage to show up, and it's all mine. I have it in writing, too! LOL!

Nice!

I would love to find a decent one, I would remove the suspension from the sidekick and put the 4.5" lift and 31's on the X90 in a heartbeat!!!

Are you going to go with a blue underlighting kit this time?  :)

Actually, yes. LOL! I am also going to try to get the Cobra safari bar back off my kid for it.

The fundage came through, so we are picking it up Thursday. This will replace the g/f's barbie Tracker that has some frame issues that require more than just a day or two's worth of work to address. I am looking forward to getting it. It's the youngest zuk(in miles) I've ever had and therefore the closest to a new one.

Nice.  Post some pictures when done, I want to see how you mount it under the body and what it looks like.  :)

We just picked it up and finalized the paperwork. 64k miles and excellent shape for $1300. I couldn't pass it up.  ;D

Took advantage of the nice weather today to tear into the dash and stereo wiring. It was a mess for sure. I rewired the stereo, replaced a couple bum fuses and then had to re-wire the right door speaker, but now everything works again. After looking at the wiring job, I wonder how many bananas were given to the monkeys that did the work. My guess is not that many, looks like they worked cheap... LOL!

By the way, for reference, the cigarette lighter/radio fuse feeds the "switched" accessory power feed in the radio harness, but the Tail/Dome fuse feeds the constant 12v memory power feed.
