Title: quick help needed. Sam trans pilot bearing ID
Post by: mrdezyne on January 20, 2012, 06:51:53 AM
If anyone has a new pilot bearing available to measure the ID I could certainly use it.  My input shaft is worn on the tip from the old bearing and replacement shafts will not be available until April I'm told.

I need to weld this up and machine it back to original diameter today if possible so I can get it all installed this weekend.

Calling in a favor if anyone can help me out.

I found it, RockAuto posts bearing dimensions online and carry just about anything you will ever need for any model.  A good little tool to use in the future.

 Width=.354"; Outside diameter=1.1811"; Inside diameter=.3937IN

SKF PN#  62002RSJ

Thanks anyway!

Or if you want the pilot bearing ID in mm, it is 10mm.
Here is how I "fixed" my worn input shaft issue....

That was on a trackick, but they use the same pilot bearings as a samurai.

Thanks gang, I was able to weld it up and turn it back down to the correct OD.  I appreciate the help!

Now, one missing 10mm x1.25 pitch flat socket head bolt from the TT kit is keeping me from dropping in my swap... AAAAAGHGHHGHGGH!  Not your basic replacement bolt from True Value... TT has one coming my way but I missed my weekend window to install the motor...
