Title: 4dr struts on 2dr?
Post by: fierodough on January 27, 2012, 03:56:20 PM
Hey guys!

My front struts are blown. I wanted to swap them for some used ones until I get my lift completed. I checked car-parts.com and near me, 2dr struts are hard to come by. But if I select 4dr, there are quite a few! Is there really a difference between the two?? If there is is, would they still bolt up?

Thanks!

Theory says the valving is different and the later models have stiffer valving because of heavier engines - BUT - OME (Old Man Emu) uses one strut (the N103S) for Vitaras & Grand Vitaras from 89~05 with the exception of the XL-7, so my guess is it will bolt up and work.

I agree.  I always noted when going thru the man malls looking for parts that the struts on the Trackers were always labeled "1.6", "2 liter" and "2.5" and yet externally I saw no structural differences.
