New to the site, but recently bought a 95 geo tracker 5 spd soft top. everything is stock except the 235 75 r15 wrangler radials i put on a few months ago.
I am about to buy a lift kit that includes a 2 inch body lift as well as a 2 inch coil spacer kit. I am also considering buying wheel spacers to give it a wider stance. What i want to know is how it will look with the 235 75 r15 tires im currently running, because if it causes a huge gap i might reconsider my lift and just get the coil spacers. I would love some feed back from anyone with an opinion, and if you have pictures of any similar set ups i would love to see them, ~ thanks

My general rule of thumb is 'don't lift more than you need'. Lower COG is better both on & off road. I think you'll be fine on 235's with just the coil spacer lift. If you find you want or need to go taller later on you can always add body or different lift to it. :)
& Welcome to ZW too!

X2 IMHO only lift to clear larger tires, if you are happily with the 235/75 's no need for a body lift. I just went from 215/75's on my 96 track to 235/75/15 BFG AT's on stock wheels,no lift, I like the look and so far, no rub.

well i got 2" bl and 2" spacer(jeffs)lift 30" tires and hell what a difference in height my total lift from stock is about 6" but like the others said if you are good with 235s then maybe just coil lift would be fine my 2c

I run a 2" BDS spring lift and 235/75/15 BFG ATs and only rub in the rear at full flex, FYI.

Hey thanks for the tips, I am leaning towards maybe just doing the coil spacers first and then see how i feel about it. I do think i want to do the wheel spacer though to widen the stance a little bit, anybody use those or know much about them, or have reccomendations ? also what about aftermarket springs like old man emu for example, are they a better ride or do they have more articulation too?
also, i didnt mention before, but i have no issues with rub, the 235 75 15 wranglers fit under it pretty perfect

Aftermarket springs give you more spring to work with. Coil spacers do more work with the spring you have. So yes better ride and better articulation. The difference is noticeable, but the coil spacers are also acceptable. Same amount of work to install both. A good set of shocks may just about level them out.

I'd recommend a wider wheel with better backspace over wheel spacers. Not sure on the Goodyears, but BFG recommends 6-7" width for their 235/75 15's. Rims can be had new for about the same price as good wheel spacers & it's less parts & less that can go wrong. You need a 5 on 5.5" bolt pattern, 4.25" center bore & 3.75-4" backspace. Summit Racing had steel wheels for about $40-50 per wheel last I saw.
I got the Low Range Off Road "LRTK" 2.5" lift combo & have only used the springs & struts/shocks so far. I didn't want the extra lift but got the kit so I have the spacers for future use if I want to go higher. The OME rides a lot better than stock, which was my main goal. It's a lot more expensive than spacers though too.

Fuzzy did yOu get the heavy duty springs with your kit?
With the spacers and NO sway bar I still feel like I'm getting beat to death.
I wish I'd have gone 235s just so I could have more articulation and a smoother ride... Then again I'm at 40psi to boost my mpg as much as possible.
-
The tire psi is what is killing you, I dropped down to 26/24 and did not see a measureable drop in mileage and a lot nicer ride on the freeway. I also saw a boost jumping from a spring spacer to Grand Vitara springs on the front end.
Right now my ride is a bit harsh, but I'm running the Bilstein struts with the heavier Vitara springs and a Sway Bar in the rear for additional stability. Handles like a sports car, rides like a sports car. :D

I got the medium duty for the 2 door, OME951 & 952.

This is probably your main problem, that's WAY too much pressure for any tire on a Trackick! My doorjam placard says 23 PSI for the stock tires. I run my 235's at 22 PSI & could probably stand to go lower.

i run between 18 and 23 depending on the tire. last set i had to run at 18 to get proper tire wear. set i have now im running 23.
im running gv springs front and rear, giving 3inches of front lift 1-1.5 rear lift. have rear spacers to add to get it even. ride is compairable to a stock truck on 235's
ive driven one right after the other and i swear i got a better ride in mine.
