Title: Escudo spring lift
Post by: stiff5 on February 06, 2012, 11:58:20 AM
I recently did a 40mm front and rear lift as the first stage mod to a stock standard 2 door soft top 1995 model.
What i would like to know is do i have to replace rear shocks with 40 mm longer to bring back to standard as there seems to be minimal flex, also i battled to re attach the front struts and had to put weight on the front just to get the bolts through the turret holes.   I believe the top hats can be flipped over to obtain about 30mm.   Is this a sufficient fix or would i need to change the struts to longer ones.   I have also ordered camber bolts on ebay to rectify the cambers.   Any advice would be appreciated.  Regards Steve

Longer shocks are the best solution on the rear, on the front I recommend strut spacers, dropping the strut down allows you to use the strut travel that is unused in the stock configuration so you can gain up to 2" of extra strut travel.
