Title: stock cylinder compression? 1987 samurai 1.3 carb model

Hello, I've been searching for the stock cylinder compression specs and I'm have a hard time finding the info I'm looking for.
My question is: is 150 psi across all four good? or is it time to ring it? Thanks Lance

150 across the board sounds pretty good for a 1.3 with 8.5 to 1 compression. You got any reason to suspect it needs rings? smoking, fouling plugs etc? That aren't real power houses.

Aaahh - 150 psi is on the low edge of acceptable - and that's from the service manual for a 1.3 Swift, which is basically the same engine.  It may not need rings now, but it will in a year or two.

199psi is factory spec.
170psi is the service limit.
150psi....I've had a few 1.3s and 1.6s that have had 150ish compression across all cylinders and they ran great.

My suggestion, as long as it is still running good, don't worry about it.  Make sure your valves are adjusted correctly and not too tight (that can cause low compression readings and burnt valves).
