Hello all,

I am proud to say i have finally joined the suzuki community and purchased my first 88' samurai today. It runs well, but the guy i got it off of said i probably need to rebuild the carburetor. With that said, i think I'm gonna put a new one completely on and was wondering what everyone here might recommend. I am looking to go with nicer than stock setup and wanted to know if anyone had a good recommendation of what carb to look into. I plan to rebuild it back up and take it off roading, but i will need to ride the highway to get to those off the beaten paths. Any help would be great, thanks

Howdy, I would first start off with running a couple of tanks of gas through it with a can of seafoam added at each fill up and then see how it goes, I like the stock carb if it is working good. p.s. where ya from etc.?

Hey i will try that, it takes like 7 pumps, 7 turns, probably 5 times to get it started from the cold. Once it gets going its good though. I can buy a rebuild kit for like 40 bucks but i am very mechanical, so i would have to have someone do it and than i would be at a 120 bucks or so, i was just thinking buying a new one might be better int he long run. Im from south jersey and am definitely a big wrangler guy, but have been partial to samurais since i was like 16. So you think it would be better to just rebuild the stock one, or is there a big jump in performance if i jump to a weber, by the way if i jump to the weber, which would you recommend?

I would take the stock carb off, and If you love it, have it bronzed.
 Never seen any one have much luck rebuilding them.JMHO.
 For $99 you can replace it with this:

 The Yota carb from a early to mid 70 s 1200 Corola.
Its almost a direct fit and is jetted nearly perfect for your application.
Search Toyota carb swap for more info....Boxcar...
