wonder if that been done? id like to install my buddys military tires he took off his 1976 chevy ex-millitary truck and put it on my vitara, they are bias/tubeless and are very agressive tires, the only issue its the 1976 chev had 8 bolt 16.5" rims. id would need a 5x5.5 bolt patern in a 16.5" rim, were to i find that? on what vehicle did they used them? i heard of old dodge ramchargers had them?
these are the tires he got,not the exact same but awfully close http://www.boattrailertires.com/Carlisle_Extra_Grip_Trailer_Tires.html (http://www.boattrailertires.com/Carlisle_Extra_Grip_Trailer_Tires.html)

Pro-Comp makes their Rock Crawler series wheel in a 16.5 dia wheel with a 5x5.5 bolt pattern,,,not gonna be real cheap, 130ish$ apiece

None.
16.5" rims were only used with 3/4 ton and up trucks in the early 80's and prior. Might be some random heavy half tons or something but they won't be common.

i know a few 70's dodge ram vans had them, and i know a guy selling a set that was off a 78 dodge ramcharger, dont know if it was factory or not.

The Ramcharger wouldn't be stock. Guess you're right on the wheels though. Just checked it with car-part.com and sure enough, the Dodge Vans of that era had 16.5" wheels with 5 lug axles. Crazy.
