Title: soft top question?
Post by: jrok90 on February 18, 2012, 09:00:58 PM
I need a new top.

Best Top seems to be the best but what is better the regular black or black denim??
They are about the same price.

I would think the denim would collect dust/dirt more due to texture - ?

I went with the cheaper Rampage brand top in black denim. The price is far easier to swallow and looks just as good as the Bestop. The lighter denim material is stronger than the vinyl in my opinion, I have had several broken branchs/sticks rip the vinyl where the denim has held up fine.

Thanks,  the rampage is a good price plus free shipping.
I do plan on hitting the trails so durability is a concern,  most of our trails are really tight.

I have owned both and each has its advantage. My Bestop was a vinyl and looked great with easy wipe of care and a nice sheen about it. It bad point was if it was cold or cool out it shrunk and was hard to stretch to snap on.

My current Rampage fit perfect 1st time out and goes on easy if it is hot or cold outside.  Cleaning care is easy with soap & water. I coated mine with a product called Rag Top. (I use this on Corvette drop Tops.) It makes cleaning easy and I can easily Armour All it for a sheen if desired.

I also got the tinted windows in the Rampage Top. These are a must if you are in an area the the temps get high. I would say the temp drop is an easy 15% gain.
